Question:
Hello, I recently purchased the Ford accessory Reese fifth wheel hitch for my 2019 F-450 part number HC3Z-19D520-A, and I have a few questions regarding the hitch. 1 Does the hitch come pre-lubricated? If not, where on the hitch should be lubricated, and which lubricant is the best? 2 Which lube plate is best recommended for this hitch? 3 Even though the hitch claims it isnt compatible with bed mats, will there be any issues if i modify my bed rug to fit around the hitch? Thank you

Based on my research it appears the HC3Z-19D520-A part you mentioned is an OEM, slightly higher-rated version of the Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Hitch # RP30922 that will mount directly to the factory pucks in the bed of your F-450. Before you take your first trip, and before each subsequent trip, Reese recommends lubricating the skid plate surface and pivot pin grease fitting with an automotive type chassis grease or simply by using a lube plate. For this I recommend the Reese # RP83001 because of its durable nylon construction along with the fact that it's designed specifically for this hitch.
You will also want to use lithium grease like # L11390 on any pivot points. I have attached an image from the manual that shows these locations.
As long as you cut around the bed mat so that the legs sit flush with the bed when mounted to the pucks this hitch can be used.
