What Hardware Is Needed To Secure the CargoSmart 1/4 Removable D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor

Question:
I just simply want to put some D. rings inside my cargo trailer. I’m not using a backing plate. These are small D rings. I just need to be able to strap a few things down. What kind of Hardware do I use and do I have to bolted into the frame?

The CargoSmart 1/4" Removable D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor part # 3486555 that you referenced is a universal tie-down therefore there are several ways that it can be installed. If you are just using the d-rings to secure very light items then you could probably get away with just some self-tapping screws. However, if you need to secure heavier items then you would want to go the route of running a bolt though the floor and then securing the other side with a washer and nut. Depending on the strength of the floor and how heavy of an item you will be securing you may or may not need a backing plate. However, I don't think there are many cases in which this tie-down would need to be bolted to the frame.
I understand this may not be the information you are looking for but as there are too many variables involved the hardware needed will really be at the discretion of the installer.
