Question:

I have the same question about plastic cap. how do you take apart the plastic mounting brackets. to replace the spring loaded screws ? thanks

In order to replace the spring loaded bolts inside the plastic mounting brackets for the Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle # AM-300 you will need to first remove the handle from your trailer/RV. You can do this by unscrewing the 2 bolts that are securing each bracket to the RV and then simply pull the handle off.

Once removed you will have access to the rear of the mounting brackets, which is open (see attached image), so you can both remove and re-install new bolts and springs like what is included with the Replacement Hardware Kit # 1091.
