Fulton f2 1600 winch replacement spring Do I need to take the entire winch apart to replace the spring ?

The Fulton F2 Fully Enclosed Trailer Winch with Strap and Adjustable Handle - 1,600 lbs # FW16000101 will not need to be completely taken apart to replace the spring, but the housing, the pin and ratchet pawl will need to be removed to replace the spring # 4769-28. If you want the kit it is # F1596S01.
