Head Dimensions on Demco Recon 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550045-5W

Question:

Can you tell me the dimensions of the head plate that the with wheel hitch rests against? Is it compatible with modern 5th wheel hitches? See attached picture for the dimensions I am seeking. Thanks

I went out to our warehouse to take a couple measurements on the Demco Recon 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550045-5W referenced in your question. The head plate has a width of 12 inches and a length (front to back before it starts to bend) of 9-1/4 inches. I have attached your image with these dimensions labeled that you can also check out.

This particular hitch can be secured to the factory gooseneck ball on your Ram 3500 if equipped and it is absolutely compatible with modern 5th wheel trailers. It features an excellent wraparound single jaw that provides an excellent connection with the trailer and also allows for a quiet, smooth ride. Its 3/4 inch thick solid steel locking bar (which is unique to Demco hitches) also reinforces this connection. It has a 21,000 pound towing weight capacity.
