Question:

I need a replacement motor side front landing gear jack but I cant figure out how to order by measurements. All I find are 29.5inch or 33inch but the length of my leg housing is 36.5. how do you take proper measurements?

I have attached a photo for you that shows how to properly measure the outer tube on a landing gear leg. I have not heard of a landing gear leg with a 36-1/2" long outer tube so if this is what you have then I recommend you replace both the lead and follow legs so that you can be sure they match.

For this, the correct replacement for you should be part # LG-177202 for the lead leg and part # LG-177201 for the follow leg. In order to make sure they will work you need to measure between your weld stops and make sure they are 19-1/2" apart inside to inside and 21-1/2" apart outside to outside.

If the weld stops do not match the above measurements then your best option is just to replace the entire system with the Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear Set part # LG-4.
