How Does Kelsey Energize Brake Controller Remove from Vehicle
Updated 03/12/2019 | Published 03/11/2019 >
Question:
I have a 89 dodge w100 with a Kelsey energize electric brake system. The truck belonged to my father in law who has passed away and I have the truck. The truck has no breaks. Before he passed he was talking about it needing a secondary vacuum pump? Can someone please shed some light on the situation. Can i just remove it and if so how?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Kelsey Energize brake controller is a standard electric brake controller which the only thing you need to do to remove it is cut the four wires that it uses to install in your vehicle and tape them up and out of the way. There is no need for any type of vacuum pump in regards to the controller. That is most likely an unrelated issue all together.
I attached a diagram that shows how a brake controller wires to a vehicle.
