What Angle Should Shackle Straps be on a Triple Axle Trailer with Double-Eye Leaf Springs
Updated 12/14/2011 | Published 12/13/2011 >
Question:
In a diagram that I printed earlier from you webb site, I see that you recommend placing load equalizers between all three axles. It appears that the shackles are tilted about 20 degrees. Is this a prescise measurement or just accomplished with eyeballing?

The angle of the shackle straps is not a precise measurement but you will want them to be around 45 degrees. The diagram may look different but staying around 45 degrees is where you will want to be. I have included a link to our FAQ article on double-eye trailer suspension for you.
