Question:
does ubolt 02943 fit the Thule adventurer 1100? And is there an easy snap system for this or just the wing nuts.

The correct mounting hardware for the Adventurer is the QM3, # TH04997, that you have referenced. In order to use any other hardware, whether it be u-bolts or a clamping type of system, would require modification of the box. This is not recommended because it can compromise the structural integrity of the box making it unsafe for use.
