In the Firestone Air Command F3 Wireless Remote Compressor System # F2581 the remote communicates with the electronic control unit (the ECU, shown in the photo) via RF, or radio waves. The ECU, compressor and the vehicle's 12V supply connect via the included harness part 9491. The two linked videos show all of the kit components and how it operates once installed.
