Need info on towing a 2019 Cherokee Trailhawk Will this tow bar work with base plate RM-521451-5 and will the safety chains work correctly

Yes the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-676 is absolutely compatible with the Roadmaster EZ-5 Base Plate Kit # RM-521451-5 that fits your 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. If you take a look at the accompanying photo you can see the Sterling in use with a direct-connect base plate kit. The safety chains will work correctly and attach to the side of the base plates like the photo shows. As a note, these base plates require your Jeep to have factory tow hooks and will not fit if you have Active Air Shutters.

Along with the base plates and tow bar there are a couple other parts you are going to need to flat tow your '19 Cherokee Trailhawk:

- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
- Supplemental Braking System: SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 OR if your motorhome has air brakes: SMI Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motor Homes with Air Brakes # SM99243

In regards to the wiring kit and supplemental braking systems, please note that some models of the Cherokee may use Mortorq® fasteners and if your vehicle has these types of fasteners, you will need a PFMTS2E bit to remove them, which can be ordered through a Snap-On dealer.

The wiring kit is designed to effectively prevent electrical feedback to keep your Cherokee's electrical system safe, and both the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO and the SMI Air Force One supplemental braking systems are the best options because they a one-time install which you can leave alone after installation so you'll never have to activate or reactivate them.
