Question:
Hi I saw the response to a question about a motorcycle trailer and I have the same issue. Im fine with changing out the 5 round, but wanted to be sure about whats needed. Because of the wiring in my trailer has been modified in a bad way Im going to have to pull wires from the lights to the connector. I have running lights left and right side in addition to the tail / break lights left and right rear , and separate turn signals. I do not have the third stops light. Can I run al this with a 4-wire connector? What is the correct wiring for this set-up? What parts do I need? The motorcycle has a 4-flat.

Since you will be gutting the wiring on your motorcycle trailer what I recommend doing is installing the Hopkins Endurance Easy-Pull Y-Harness # HM48244 along with the Curt Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter # C56196.
What this does is give you an Easy-Pull harness to make disconnecting your trailer wiring from your motorcycle easier, 2 wires for the running lights, and 2 wires for your stop/turn signals. Since you have separate turn signals simply use the converter to isolate your turn signals and and brake signal. Run the green and yellow wiring from the Hopkins for your turn signals and then use 14 Gauge Wire # DW02412-1 to run the brake signals from the red wire on the converter to the stop functions on your red tail lights.
I also recommend using heat shrink butt connectors like part # DW05744-10 and # DW05745-10 to make your connections as the heat shrink provides superior protection as opposed to standard butt connectors.
