Can the Reese Elite Series Pucks be Welded Directly to a Flatbed

can I buy these adaptor pucks , weld them under my flat bed ?

Yes, you could weld the Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Rail Puck Adapters part # RP30149 directly to your flatbed. However, there would be no real way to then formulate any sort of weight capacity for the system once done so. The pucks really need to be installed on a cross member that attaches to each side of the frame rail . You would then cut holes in the flatbed where the pucks sit or you could weld them if you like but you need to have the bracing underneath in order to hold any sort of weight.

Once the pucks are installed and spaced accordingly you can then use the Reese M5 Series 5th Wheel Hitch part # RP30921.
