Weld on a heavy-duty tie-down point where your load sits, not where the trailer came with loops. This forged steel D-ring and weld-on clip give straps, chain, and hooks a tough place to connect, so you can cinch down hard without reworking tie-downs.
If you're hooking up wherever you can, you end up with off-angle pulls that twist hooks, shift the tie-down path, and make you reposition straps just to get the load settled. Welding this D-ring assembly onto your trailer lets you create a dedicated anchor point where your cargo sits, so your tie-downs start from a better line instead of fighting the layout you already have.
The included weld-on clip gives you a dedicated mounting point for the D-ring once installed. That means you can add tie-down points to match your load style, whether you're securing equipment, materials, or bulky gear that never seems to land near the factory tie-downs.
Tie-down hardware sees repeat tension, road vibration, and the occasional hard cinch. A forged ring is built to take that kind of repeated use without changing shape as quickly as many stamped or cast rings do. If you haul often, that helps your anchor point stay consistent over time instead of slowly deforming and changing how your hooks sit.
This assembly is stored with oil to help keep rust from forming during storage so the steel stays clean for welding. It's left unfinished from the factory because most installs are welded and then finished by you, which also means you are not stripping paint or powder coat before you start.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this etrailer forge steel D-Ring tie-down anchor with weld-on clip. Now this is a heavy duty weld-on D-ring tie-down that's built for serious hauling jobs. It has a working load limit of 8,833 pounds, so it's more than capable of handling that large equipment, trailers or anything that you typically secure on a flatbed. One of the biggest advantages is that you're gonna be able to weld this exactly where you need it.
The clip and D-ring design is going to let you secure the tie-down point in the ideal spot, which is gonna help your straps or chains pull straight instead of at awkward angles. That's gonna make your load more stable and reduce stress on your gear. This does come oil coated and unfinished, which is actually a good thing. This is going to keep the steel protected from rust and ready for a clean strong weld right out of the box. Once installed, it's gonna give you a solid, reliable anchor point, again, for those straps, ropes, or chains, and it's gonna be especially useful if you're just looking to put a tie-down just at that exact spot that you need it.
This is made from forge steel, not standard steel, so it's gonna hold up better over time. It's gonna resist bending and wear even with repeated heavy use. And on top of that, this has a breaking strength of 26,500 pounds. That's gonna give you a strong safety margin above that working load limit of 8,833 pounds. So, I'm putting a ruler up.
As you can see, end to end, the width is about four and a half inches. That's gonna be the same for what I'm calling the hight here. And then looking at the internal measurements, this is gonna be kind of trickier to see, but looks like the width there is gonna be pretty close to two and seven eighths inches, and that's gonna be the same for the height or the length as well. The thickness of this ring is three quarters of an inch, as we have stamped here on the ring itself. And again, we've got that working load limit stamped there as well, 8,833 pounds.
