Highlights

  • 15,600-lb Working Load Limit for Heavy-Duty Cargo Control: A solid capacity for equipment trailers, flatbeds, and haulers that see big loads.
  • Weld-On Clip and D-Ring Let You Add a Tie-Down Point Where You Need It: Place it where your straps or chain pull straight to help reduce off-angle pulls.
  • Oil-Immersed and Unfinished So It Stays Weld-Ready: Stored in oil to help protect against rust and keep the steel clean for welding.
  • Provides a Solid Attachment Point for Straps, Ropes, and Chains: Gives your hooks a dependable place to land when factory tie-downs aren't in the right spot.
  • Forged Steel Resists Wear and Deformation Better Than Standard Steel: Made to hold its shape through repeated loading and tie-down use.

Features to know about

When Heavier Gear Shifts, It Doesn't Take Much to Create a Big Problem

If you're hooking up wherever you can, you end up with off-angle pulls that twist hooks, shift the tie-down path, and make you reposition straps just to get the load settled. Welding this D-ring assembly onto your trailer lets you create a dedicated anchor point where your cargo sits, so your tie-downs start from a better line instead of fighting the layout you already have.

Weld-On Clip Lets You Build the Setup You Want

The included weld-on clip gives you a dedicated mounting point for the D-ring once installed. That means you can add tie-down points to match your load style, whether you're securing equipment, materials, or bulky gear that never seems to land near the factory tie-downs.

Why Forging Matters When You Cinch Down Hard and Keep Hauling

Tie-down hardware sees repeat tension, road vibration, and the occasional hard cinch. A forged ring is built to take that kind of repeated use without changing shape as quickly as many stamped or cast rings do. If you haul often, that helps your anchor point stay consistent over time instead of slowly deforming and changing how your hooks sit.

Why It Arrives Oiled and Unfinished

This assembly is stored with oil to help keep rust from forming during storage so the steel stays clean for welding. It's left unfinished from the factory because most installs are welded and then finished by you, which also means you are not stripping paint or powder coat before you start.

Video Transcript for Review of etrailer Trailer Tie Down Anchors - Forged Steel D Ring Tie Down Anchor With Clip - e78QV

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this etrailer Forged Steel D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor with Clip. Now, this is a heavy duty weld-on D-ring tie-down that's made for trailers and hauling setups where you need a strong, reliable anchor point. This is rated for a 15,600-pound working load, so this is going to be plenty capable for securing equipment, machinery, and other heavy cargo. What's nice about this is that you can weld this exactly where you need it with the included clip here.

And then, so instead of being stuck with factory tie-down points that might not line up well, you're gonna be able to position this so your straps or chains pull straight. That's gonna help avoid awkward angles and give you a more secure hold. Let's go over some measurements. So, looking at what I'm calling the outer width. Looks like we're right at five inches.

The outer length or height, again, right at five inches. The inner width is right at about 2 15/16 inches, almost three inches. And it looks like that's gonna be about the same for the internal length. The thickness of this ring, as we have stamped right here, is one inch. So, this comes oil-coated and unfinished, which basically means this is gonna be protected from rust during storage but still ready to weld right out of the box.

No extra prep is gonna be needed. The ring itself is made from forged steel, so it's gonna be tougher than your standard steel, and it's gonna hold its shape better over time even with repeated use and heavy loads. It's gonna give you a solid, dependable spot, again, to hook your straps, ropes, or chains, all without worrying about bending or wear. And again, the working load limit, again, we have that stamped here as well, 15,600 pounds, and a 46,800-pound brake strength. So there's a pretty good safety margin built in, but this comes exactly as you see it here.

Now, if you need help with getting this installed, we do have you covered on that front as well. On this product page, underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link and answer the questions that it has for you and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to do the welding for you. Well, again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.

  • Looking for a 11680 lbs. Capacity Powder Coated Steel Tie-Down Ring
Thanks for reaching out Eric, I'm not seeing we currently carry an exact match to the 11680 lbs powder coated steel tie down ring you were looking for. The closest option we have is the etrailer Forged Steel D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor # e78QV. It has a 15,600 lb working load limit, but it is unfinished and weld ready rather than powder coated. If having a powder coated finish is important, you could apply a suitable primer and paint after welding and installation to help protect it from corrosion. What...
