Question:

Hello, Im looking at a fifth wheel with an RBW 7027 telescoping pin box. The problem is I have a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 short box truck. I dont know much about telescoping pin boxes. Will this pin box give me the clearance I need to turn? If it doesnt is there anything else I can do? Thanks

Your Sidewinder Fifth Wheel King Pin with Rotating Turret by 5th Airborne, 16K # ST400-5AS16K is not a fit for the RBW 7027 pin box. There is not a Sidwinder option for that pin box. I've attached a link to an article to help you with pin box replacements to give you the Sidewinder fit.

Unfortunately the RBW 7027 pin box is not a size that we have any replacement options for in any pin box style.

If you have a 6-1/2 foot bed on your 2014 GMC 1500, then you can use any sliding 5th wheel hitch to give you turning clearances. I've linked the page to all your options. If you have a 5-1/2 foot bed, then you only have one option that will give you the turning clearances you need. It is the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # DM8550040. This hitch is only compatible with trailers with a 13,000 lb GVWR or less and automatically slides to accommodate the clearances needed for your trailer. This unique hitch will work because it has a slider travel of 22-1/2 inches compared to the 8-14 inches of a traditional sliding hitch. I've attached a video to assist. This hitch is compatible with industry standard base rails, so if you already have above bed rails it will fit. If you don't have the rail kit yet, I recommend the custom fit # DM8552027-71 which is a custom fit for your truck.
