How to Use the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless with Another Brake Controller
Published 11/13/2018 >
Question:
Hey our primary tow vehicle will not have any E brake controller installed as yet so we were thinking to use this one so we can also use it with our secondary vehicle which also does not have an E brake controller. However, what happens if it is plugged into a third vehicle that does have an existing E brake controller? Will it work with the existing controller or do we need to unplug the existing one and use the wireless one? Cheers

In order to use the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # TK94FR on a vehicle with another brake controller already installed all you need to do is unplug the connector from the back of the other brake controller. You will not need to cut any wires or remove the device, just unplug the controller with the connector on the back which most have. This is a great brake controller if you have multiple tow vehicles. The only requirement is that the 12 volt circuit on the 7-way is active which you can test by probing the 1 o'clock pin with a circuit tester.
