Question:
are there more than one size clamp? I just purchased a well used trailer. It has two different axels. Both take 8-14.5 tires. It only had tires on the rear axel. I replaced the clamps and they seem fine. Tried to put on the other rims and the clamps seem too large.

We only carry the Redline Wheel Rim Clamp # 15-2 which is specifically made for the Dexter Axle Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-174-5UC3.
I suppose if you have different hub and drum assemblies then it is possible that they would use different clamps but that would depend on their design.
Do your axles have the same weight rating or are they completely different? If this is the case then you really need to change them out so that they match. If they are different weight ratings then that means you likely use different hub and drum assemblies which would explain why the clamps only work with one assembly but not the other.
