A Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) can be found in many different locations on a trailer. It is most common to be found near the coupler on a plaque or embossed into the frame. It however can be anywhere on the trailer frame as there are not consistent rules for this. If you cannot find the VIN anywhere on your trailer frame, you can call your local highway patrol and they can issue one to you so you can register your trailer.
