Question:
Hello, I have the Gen-y torsion hitch Item # 325-GH-1024. Will this Weight Distribution system Item # 325-GH-302 fit? Any issues using the torsion hitch with the weight distribution system? Is there a smaller weight distribution system that I could use since my trailer is only 10,000 lbs or will the 325-GH-302 be ok without too much of a rough ride? Let me know, Thank you

Expert Reply:
For your Gen-Y Torsion 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers # 325-GH-1024 the Weight Distribution System for Gen-Y Ball Mounts with 2" Receivers has been discontinued and will fit if you have it but is rated for 1,000 to 1,400 lbs total tongue weight. That total tongue weight is the loaded tongue weight of your trailer along with any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. The issue with this particular pairing is the limitation of your 10K receiver as you stated.
The solution is either to switch out your receiver with the 16K # 325-GH-1224 or change the spring bars out on this weight distribution system. You may choose to piece together the system as a third alternative.
Gen-Y partnered with Curt for the spring bars, so you can simply use the following based on your desired weight:
Replacement Spring Bar for Curt MV Weight Distribution System - 500 to 600 lbs TW # C17071
Replacement Spring Bar for Curt MV Weight Distribution System - 600 to 800 lbs TW # C17072
Replacement Spring Bar for Curt MV Weight Distribution System - 800 to 1,000 lbs TW # C17073
I've attached an article on weight distribution for further assist.
