Helpful Expert Reply:
I will be happy to compare the Tekonsha P3 # 90195 and the Primus # TK90160 for you.
First, I will cover features that both controllers share. Both controllers:
Will install the same in your vehicle
Come with a universal pigtail
Are proportional controllers (apply trailer brakes to the same amount as the vehicle is braking)
Have automatic leveling
Have limited life time warranties
The controllers have several differences:
The P3 has an LCD display. The Primus has an LED display
The P3 has easy to understand diagnostics. The Primus will display error codes that have to be looked up
The P3 is compatible with up to 4 axle trailers. The Primus is recommend for up to 3 axles
The P3 works with electric brakes and electric over hydraulic systems. The Primus is electric brakes only
The P3 can be mounted a full 360 degrees in the direction of travel. The Primus has a mounting range of 0 degrees (level) to 90 degrees (nose up)
Those are the major differences and comparable features of these controllers. If you have any questions about these features I will be happy to help. I have also linked a couple of overview videos for you.
