Recommended Electric Drum Brake Assemblies for 3500 lb Axles

Updated 09/17/2018 | Published 09/16/2018

Question:

I was looking at a keystone bullet Premier 19FBPR. The travel trailer appears to have 14inch tires with 3500lbs axle. My question is do all 3500lbs axles have 10 inch breaks.

It is standard for a 3500 lb axle to have 10 inch brake assemblies. It is rare for there to be a 12 inch assembly on a 3,500 lb axle, but I'm skeptical to say always a 10 inch simply because when you state a rule it will get broken.

The 99% of 3,500 lb axles have a 10 inch brake assembly like # 23-26 you asked from. I recommend replacing 10 inch assemblies with the self-adjusting # AKEBRK-35-SA. These will automatically adjust as the shoes wear to ensure you have the best braking.
