Replacement Switches for a Bulldog Electric A-Frame Trailer Jack

Question:
We recently had a decent rain here in Louisiana. Got up the next morning and noticed that the LED on the Bulldog powered jack was dimly lit. Thought my kids had been out playing with the power switch. To my surprise the power switch was off. When switched into the on position the light brightens up to its normal output, but the retraction switch is dead. I can extend or lift with no issues. Any thoughts?

It sounds like there may be a short in your Bulldog jack which could have been caused by excessive moisture from the rain. Also I recommend checking the wiring from the jack to the ground and power sources.
The jack grounds through the mounting hardware so you may need to temporarily remove the jack (be sure to support the trailer another way) and sand away any corrosion. Also check for corrosion or damage to the power wire and where it connects to the battery.
The light switch itself can be replaced with # BD500362. And the replacement Extend/Retract switch is # BD500363. Inspect the wiring to the switches as well and make sure everything is dried out and that should take care of the problem.
I also recommend a jack cover such as # UF38-944020 to place over the jack head to protect it from the elements.
