Wired Rear View Camera System Recommendation for Rear of Travel Trailer

Question:
I believe this unit would meet our needs for a camera to mount to the rear of our travel trailer so we can see what is behind us while were driving. It is an aluminum-skinned trailer so I believe the wired setup will alleviate any interference. Our truck already has a backup camera, so I dont think we need the two-camera version. As I understand it, this unit splices in to existing wiring on the trailer, and connects with the monitor inside the truck via the wiring harness to the truck. It would need to splice in to an always-on light in order for it to be always-on while the trailer is in motion, correct? Is there anything Im missing?

To alleviate the possiblity of interference a wired camera setup will be your best option like you mentioned. For a single camera version of the kit you mentioned the Rear View Safety Camera kit part # RVS-770613-NM would be a great option. You'll also want the extension cable to use from the monitor to the rear of the vehicle like part # RVS-101N so that you can then have a quick disconnect when connecting or disconnecting your trailer.
You can use any circuit you like as the trigger wire to turn the system on. So if you wanted it on all the time you'd just need to use a power source that activates when the vehicle is turned on.
