Primus Brake Controller Shows H5 Error

on my unit it displays H5, what does that mean???

H5 isn't an error code I am familiar with for the Primus # TK90160. There is an SH error and the S would look like a 5. That indicates a short circuit. H5 would seem to indicate the controller was either upside down or went a little bonkers from the short.
The most likely culprit is a dirty or corroded trailer connector vehicle or trailer side. Corrosion can cause power draw from another circuit to the brake output circuit. Make sure the vehicle and trailer side connectors are clean and free of corrosion inside, where the wires attach, and outside on the pins.
