Question:

I drive a 2002 Chevy Blazer with roof cross bars that are 42 1/2 inches long for the cross bars at their farthest point and 42-43 inches wide will this roof basket fit comfortably on my vehicles pre existing roof setup?

The Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket # C18115-117 referenced in your question works with crossbar spreads between 22 and 50 inches. The crossbar spread refers to the distance between the two crossbars on your roof, from center to center. Looking at the picture you attached, it appears that the crossbars can be moved along the length of the side rails to create larger or smaller crossbar spreads. If this is the case, then you should have no problem getting them to the needed spread for the Curt Cargo Basket to mount properly. As long as the crossbars do not measure more than 3 inches wide, this basket will work great.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this cargo basket that you can check out as well. You might also consider adding a cargo bag like the Curt # C18221 or a net like # C18201 to secure and protect the cargo that you load into the basket.
