Question:

What is the best roof carrier for a 103inch kayak weighing about 45 lb? Given low clearance getting into garage, I would like something a low and easily removed when not planning on using it. Easy of loading is important - 68yrs old and have a bad back.

The best rooftop kayak carrier we have for your 2016 Chevrolet Suburban is the Yakima Kayak Carrier part # Y04083-04082. This carrier uses saddles so it will provide the best clearance when pulling into the garage and it has rollers so once you get the bow/hull on top of the roof you can simple push it the rest of the way on. It comes with all of the tie-downs you need but you can add locks for security using part # Y07204. It is also easily removable using the hand knobs because each piece is very lightweight.
