Question:

Can the Thule Hullavator mount on Yakima Jetstream bar? If yes, what additional hardware is needed? If Im mounting these 2 pieces on a 2018 Toyota Highlander, what length/width of bar would be appropriate? Thanks.

The Thule Hullavator load-assisted kayak carrier # TH898 will directly mount onto just about any roof rack bar shapes, including round, square, aero, elliptical, most factory crossbars, and most crossbars with top "T-slot" channels. Yakima Jetstream bars will work fine so long as they are long enough.

The most important compatibility requirements for mounting the Hullavator are that the cross bars extend out past the rack legs and by no less than 4 -inches and that they be at least 24-inches apart on their centers. This is shown in the linked diagram. The bars must extend past the legs by this amount in order that the Hullavator avoid any contact with the side of your vehicle.

The other concern is weight, since the carrier itself weighs 40-lbs; you want to confirm in your manual that your Highlander roof capacity is at least 130-lbs.

The Yakima Jetstream bars comes in various lengths; you'll want to make sure you have the bars that are 60-inches long. The suitable racks for the Highlander with a bare roof are parts # Y00426, # Y28TR and # Y06130.
