The strongest roof rack we carry for your 2016 Ford Fusion maxes out at 125 pounds so it will not be the best option for your 2016 Ford Fusion and two 68 pound kayaks. The components are limited by the capacity of your vehicle as the individual parts are rated higher. I do have a solution for you but none of the available roof racks for your Fusion are rated high enough.
The only remaining option is to use what is called a roof rack on wheels. This is basically a trailer with a roof rack on it. The most cost effective option is # MAL53FR rated for 400 pounds. This will also be a lot safer for the vehicle and much easier to load for you.
Your Fusion will need to have a trailer hitch to tow it so if you are interested in this method of transporting your kayaks I recommend hitch # C12091. To tow the above trailer level you will need a ball mount with a 4-1/4 inch rise (or close to it). For that I recommend # C45021 which has a rise of 4 inches. And you will need a 2 inch ball # C40018.
For a trailer wiring harness to activate the lights on the trailer use # 118574. The kayaks could be strapped directly to the crossbars but I recommend using a couple of Malone SeaWing Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs - Rear Loading - Clamp On # MPG107MD which will also come with tie-downs to secure the kayaks.
I know this is a lot of stuff but due to the limitations of the vehicle roof and available roof racks it is the best way to carry your two 68 pound kayaks.
