Review of the Malone SeaWing Kayak Carrier Stinger Load Assist

Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Stinger Load Assist from the Malone SeaWing Kayak Carrier. Part number MPG350.The Malone Stinger Load Assist is the perfect addition to your Malone SeaWing. It allows you to easily and safely load up your kayak from the rear of your vehicle. It adjusts in and out from the SeaWing, giving us extra support at the rear so we don't damage our vehicle. Here underneath, you can see the pad. Once it's out, it flexes down when the kayak's weight is applied allowing you to easily position it onto our SeaWing.

It retracts out about 21 inches and it's especially great for vehicles that have a rear window spoiler, just like this, to where we don't want any damage done to it. It's constructed out of that same heavy duty, flexible plastic as our SeaWing so you can be sure it's gonna stand up to the elements for a long time. Now that we've gone over the features, I'll go ahead and show you how to get it set up. I've already got one of my SeaWings installed on my Malone crossbars. Let's go ahead and install the Stinger with the rear one.I've already gone ahead and assembled my Stinger. It comes with two longer bolts to replace the two short black bolts.

How it works is the rear SeaWing simply sets in place on top of the Stinger, lining up the holes, and then our longer hardware goes down through. From here, we can just install it like normal. You want to be sure and line it up with the front of our SeaWing. Once it's in place and lined up with the front, we can then just install our bottom clamp and then our wingnuts. You want to be sure that it sits level with the top and that we tighten it down evenly.

Just like that. Now for this step if your vehicle has a rear antenna, go ahead and remove that. That way it's not in the way.Now we're ready to load up our kayak. We'll need to make sure that the Stinger is pulled all the way out for easy loading. So we'll loosen up our two knobs, pull it all the way out, and then we'll tighten it back up. That way it doesn't move on us.

Now let's grab our kayak. So I'll bring my kayak up. You can see here how the Stinger is resting on my vehicle. That's what we want. Now here on top, the Stinger also features some felt padding. That way our kayak easily slides on top until we get it all the way on top of our SeaWing. I'll then walk to the rear of my kayak. I'll pick it up, then slide it the rest of the way on. Those felt pads make it way easier to scoot it on into our SeaWing. With my kayak in place, I can push my Stinger back in. Once my Stinger's back in place, I can tighten it down and then strap down my kayak just as I would normally. That's gonna complete our look at the Stinger Load Assist for the Malone SeaWing Kayak Carrier.
