Question:

I am building a ramp door like a toyhauler for my box truck. The door will be flush with the back edge of the box. If I was to use 4 of your strap hinges to attach the door, what weight rating how much weight can the hinges hold would I be looking at?

I have reached out to my contact at Polar before asking about the weight rating of their straps, like part # 2512, and I have been told that they don't really have a weight rating. There are so many different variables into the equation that it is next to impossible for them to give an accurate answer.

I can say that they have directed me towards the Ramp Door Hinge # PLR1902 for heavier duty applications though. This is a much better application for a ramp as the stap hinges are meant to be used for a door that swings out and not a ramp.
