Finding the Correct Hub for Spindle on Single Axle Trailer

Question:
I have a single axle trailer with 5 on 5 hub and I have 5 on 4.5 wheels. My spindle is 1 inch and I have 2 1750lb hubs can I put bearings in my hubs to accept the spindle size

Expert Reply:
No, you will need to get the correct hub assembly for your spindle. If you are unsure of what hub assembly you need to use a digital caliper and measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings ride. You can use the photo I've attached to see exactly where you need to measure.
