How Do I Use a Backup Camera w/out a Tailgate on a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500?

Looking for an after-market solution. The 360-degree cameras on my 2022 GMC all go blank when my tailgate is removed to install a slide in truck camper. Is there an after-market solution to make the truck think there is a camera installed. The GMC dealer recommended I buy an entire tailgate wiring harness and hide it above my spare tire. Hoping you have a better solution.

Hey John, welcome back! I do have a way better functional solution for you. It's the Brandmotion Tailgate Delete Backup Camera with Wiring Harness item # BM84SR. This camera attaches to your license plate bracket. The other end will connect to the same harness that your tailgate does on your 2022 GMC Sierra 3500.
The Brandmotion item # BM84SR allows you to retain your backup camera when you take off your tailgate it has a 150º view and optional parking lines that show up on your factory display.
