Compatibility of Lippert Ground Control System on 5th Wheel rated for 21,000 GVWR

Published 03/08/2018

Question:

I have a 2006 DRV Elite Suites 36TK3. It has a dry weight of 16,000 lbs and a gross weight of 21,000 lbs. It current has hydraulic front jacks and hydraulic rear stabilizer jacks. All 4 jacks have a 5 degree tilt to prevent any rocking or movement when setup. The frame is manufactured by Lippert but is a welded 2 x 15 box frame and not a I-beam frame. I suspect the Lippert 4 point would be insufficient but would the 6 point work for this unit? Does E-trailer sell the 6 point system?

Expert Reply:

We do not currently carry the 6 point system, but the 4 point Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric 5th Wheel RV Leveling System w/ Touchpad and Remote # LC358590 will be able to level up to 20,000 lbs so it may work for your needs as long as you aren't at the maximum gross weight of your trailer. Each jack is rated for 5,000 lbs support capacity.

Your box frame will have no issues with installing these jacks.

If you will be over the 20K capacity of this system, then you would need the 6-point system which basically includes 2 extra jacks like # LC344792 and # LC305339, but requires a control module we don't carry.
