Question:

I have an ebike with fenders that is about 55 lbs. Can the Thule DoubleTrack Pro 2 be used to transport this one bike since is has a capacity of 70 lbs total? Ive looked at several other carriers but they are either not appropriate for an ebike with fenders OR they are just too pricey Thule easy fold.

I do have a bike rack that will work for you but the Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT Bike Platform Rack part # TH92BJ will not. The 35 lb max (per) bike weight capacity of this carrier will not be suitable for your 55 lb bike. Instead, I recommend using the Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack part # SA4412B which has a 60 lb per bike weight capacity and holds the bikes by the frame so it will not interfere with your fenders.

The Freedom works with both 1-1/4" and 2" trailer hitch receivers. It comes with a lock to secure the rack to the vehicle. The upright mast folds down for easy access to the rear cargo area and it is similarly priced to the DoubleTrack Pro.
