Which Front Mount Hitch Offers the Most Ground Clearance on a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500

I would like maximum ground clearance to maximize approach angles. I have removed the air dam under the bumper on my 04 ram 1500 slt 4x4. I would like a hitch that hugs the bumper. Does any manufacture have something for the 4x4 enthusiast that does not hang iron +3inch below the front bumper? If not, why? That plastic air dam is the first thing to rip off when 4-wheeling. Front bumpers with winch mounts are expensive and your receiver would be the perfect alternative IF it was a bumper hugger.

They currently only make two custom fit front hitches for your 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. You can choose from either the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 31320 or the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65033. Out of these two options the Curt Trailer Hitch hang down the least as you can see in the attached photo. Unfortunately, both of the above trailer hitches are made for customers who still have the lower valance which is the reason they sit the way they do.
The only other option I have for you would require quite a bit more work in the Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13701 which is a universal trailer hitch that will need to be cut to fit your vehicle. You can choose to either bolt or weld the hitch onto your frame.
