Installation of Thule Replacement Hinge # TH14936 on a Thule Ascent Cargo Box

Question:

Hello, how do I attach the hinge on my Thule Ascent to the top of the box, it is attached to the bottom of the box but not to the top. Thanks,

The Thule Replacement Hinge, part # TH14936 is attached to the cargo box by snapping the round hole on the end of each hinge onto the ball sockets on the mounting brackets. I went out in our warehouse and opened a Thule cargo box and snapped the hinge off of the ball socket and back on and it did take some pressure to get it to snap off and on to the ball. To get it to go back on to the ball you might even need to tap it on with a hammer.

I am including a link to a video review of the Thule Ascent cargo box and at the 1 minute and 4 second mark of the video it will show the hinge snapped onto the top and bottom brackets of the cargo box.

I own a Thule Atlantis 1600 cargo box with a severely cracked lid. How do I separate the lid from the base to enable ease of repair. Do you have a description or video showing how to detach the lid from the base??

We don't have a video of this but you should be able to apply pressure to the inside part of the hinge (so pushing it towards the outside of the box) to get it to release. Once the hinge is released you should then be able to separate the top and bottom section of your Thule Atlantis cargo box completely by unscrewing any remaining hinges.
