The 23-5/8 inch width is the widest point and is actually for the metal rod. The bracket width is 22-1/8 inches from edge to edge. I measured this product for you to confirm and have attached a photo to assist.

It is possible that either the Flexco steps, #SMFP-3100, will fit your trailer. You just have to go by the mounting hole measurements for each. The Flexco steps are also 7 inches on center front to back but 25-3/8 inches left to right.
