Question:
Can I install your Curt 13234 Class 3 Trailer Hitch on a 2017 Ford Edge SE - AWD. I just watched your installation movie for installing a Curt 12140 Class 2 Trailer hitch.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13234 is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Ford Edge SE as is the 1-1/4 inch # C12140 you mentioned. The # C13234 is a stronger hitch receiver with more options for accessories and ball mounts. I've attached an installation video of this hitch for you.
If you will be towing with this hitch receiver, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118669. This harness plugs into your Ford Edge's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
I recommend the No-Drill Mount Bracket, Short # 18140 and Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat # 18144 to secure your connection to your hitch receiver.
For a ball mount, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 3" Drop, 3-1/2" Rise - 7.5K - Black, # BWTS10035B. This will give you a 2 inch and 1-7/8 inch hitch ball as well as give you adjustability to tow a trailer level by offering the 1 inch height adjustments between a 3 inch drop and 3-1/2 inch rise. This ball mount also offers the ability to hide the ball on the backside when not in use to give you a clean look and save your shins when loading cargo into your trunk. I recommend using a hitch lock like # BX8858 to protect your investment.
