Question:
Does this assembly come greased?
asked by: Jason
Expert Reply:
No, because the hub would need to be assembled and then disassembled for installation and the grease could attract dirt and grime during shipping, our hub and drum assemblies do not come pre-greased.
You will need to grease the bearings prior to installation. I would recommend using the Deluxe Bearing Packer, item # L70025, along with the Grease Gun for 3 inch cartridges # 30-800 and the Marine Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease Cartridges, item # L54FR. Marine grease is hydrophobic and will not break down from water entering the hub due to condensation or immersion in water.
