It really depends on the weight of your boat. For example the Dutton-Lainson TW4000 StrongArm Electric Winch # DL25200 has a weight capacity of 1,500 lbs but can pull up to a 4,000 lb boat under the right conditions.

These conditions just have to do with how much resistance your boat will be experiencing. I have attached a helpful article that goes into more detail about this that you can use, or you can let me know how much your boat weighs and what kind of bunks you have and I can make a different recommendation if need be.

Since it is rated for up to a 4,000 lb boat you could probably get by with the Dutton-Lainson TW4000 # Dutton-Lainson TW4000, but I recommend going with the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm # DL25215 though because it is rated for a 9,000 lb boat and will have a much easier time pulling your boat onto your trailer with carpeted bunks. This winch is at a higher price point, but it will last much longer because it won't be straining to pull your boat, plus if you end up swapping out your boat for a slightly heavier one you may not have to replace your winch as well.
