Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2017 Ford F-350

Published 12/18/2017

Question:

I have a 2017 F350 SuperDuty which I use to tow a 5th wheel RV, currently when I hook up my 5th wheel the weight of the RV causes my truck to squat enough to cause my trucks headlights to point too high causing on coming traffic to flash their lights at me. Even with this squatting the RV is still towing nose high by about 4inch and I cant correct this out of level towing stance at the hitch or pin box, since Im already at the minimum bed side clearance with the 5th wheel. To correct these issues Im planning to lower the rear of my truck by swapping in 2inch shorter lift blocks and Id like to add a Timbren SES kit to reduce the squatting issue. The problem is Timbren SES for the Stock ride height F350 probably will not work for my lowered truck. Would the Timbren SES for the F250 work for my lowered F350? Thanks.

I'd first make sure you aren't exceeding the capacity of your truck as 4 inches of squat for a 1 ton truck is quite a bit.

Assuming you are within the capacities of your vehicle your best option is to use suspension enhancement to bring the rear suspension. Changing the ride height makes suspension enhancement installs more complicated and then it also makes towing the trailer level with enough bed rails clearance difficult too.

Air suspension would be your best option since it will allow you to adjust exactly how much support you'd need to bring the rear of your truck back to where it belongs. For your 2017 Ford F-350 the part # F2600 would be the correct kit.
