Heavy trailers and bed loads can make the rear sag and throw off your steering and braking. These Firestone Ride-Rite air helper springs add up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity to bring the truck back to level when hauling or towing. By mounting between the frame and rear suspension, they keep weight evenly distributed across all tires so steering control, braking, and headlight aim stay right where they should be.
Every load is different. With manual inflation valves included, you can air up the springs to as much as 100 psi for heavy towing days or drop them to 20 psi for a smooth, compliant ride when unloaded. The ability to fine-tune pressure side-to-side helps correct off-center loads and keeps handling balanced no matter what’s in the bed or on the hitch.
Road shock and axle contact can make a loaded truck buck or bottom out. Each Ride-Rite spring uses a double-convoluted design with four layers of reinforced rubber that cushions bumps and absorbs impact between the axle and frame. The braided wire girdle shape increases burst strength while the rolled crimp seal keeps the metal end plates anchored tight for long-term reliability.
These air springs are designed for real work days—rubber reinforced for durability, crimp-sealed end plates to prevent leaks, and corrosion-resistant hardware throughout. The brackets fit directly between the frame and suspension with a simple, no-drill installation using the included hardware, airlines, and valves. Add an optional compressor system later if you want in-cab control, but everything needed for manual setup comes in the box so you can get steady, level support right away.

Still happy with this install, bags help tremendously over bridge joints hauling my 5th wheel. not sure how these compare to Timbren setup, but i would guess better based on being able to adjust pressure. way more stable over bridges and bends in road.

After 1 year of use, my Firestone airbags never let me down. Working perfectly. This is the 3rd trucks Ive run Firestone 5000 lbs. rated bags on with no issues.
