Fifth Wheel Hitch Setup for 2014 Ram With Rambox

Question:

I have a 2014 Dodge Ram 6.7 diesel with Rambox. I need some help to see which hitch is best and I think I need a king pin for the short box and rails correct? not sure yet on trailer size but roughly 10000 pound trailer.

You are correct that in order to use a fifth wheel hitch with your 2014 Ram that has the Rambox feature, you will need to use a Sidewinder king pin. To pick the right Sidewinder you will only need to know the manufacturer and model number of the pin box on the trailer. For example Sidewinder # RP34FR is designed for use with Fabex 663 and 665, Lippert 0719, 1621 and 1621HD, as well as M&M 663 and 665 pin boxes. The fifth wheel hitch you select must also be compatible with a Sidewinder and I highly recommend checking out the Reese M5 # RP30928.

To install this hitch in your '14 Ram you would need base rails # RP50142-58.
