2-1/2 to 2 Inch Adapter Sleeve or 2-1/2 Inch Shank for Husky Weight Distribution and 2015 Ford F-350

Updated 10/19/2017 | Published 10/18/2017

Question:

I recently purchased a 2015 F350 for towing and it has a 2 1/2inch receiver. I have a Husky weight distribution system I have been using with an F250 that has a 2inch receiver so I purchased a Reese reducer sleeve to allow me to use my towing system on the new truck. When I read the booklet for the reducer it stated that sleeve was not intended to be used with a weight distribution system. Is there a reducer sleeve that is designed properly to be used with a weight distribution system? FYI, my boat and trailer weigh in right at 10K pounds.

Brophy adapter # HR26 isn't a sleeve but it is rated for use with weight distribution up to 10,000 pounds gross trailer weight. If your loaded trailer is right at 10K though this isn't an ideal solution.

Another option is to use a shank that is designed to fit directly in a 2-1/2 inch receiver. Provided that your existing shank has the head mounting holes spaced 1-1/4 inches apart on center and the holes are 3/4 inches in diameter you can use # C17131 or MOST of the others in the link below.
