Question:
What changes are made to these Equalizer Hitches to achieve the different tongue weight / tow ratings? I have a 90-00-1000 hitch now, which has a 1000lb tongue rating with 10,000 tow rating. I just determined that my travel trailers tongue weight is 1200lbs, so Im thinking I should actually have the 90-00-1400 hitch with 1400lb tongue weight rating and a 14,000 tow rating instead. What do you think?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The difference is the spring bars of the systems and the amount of weight they are designed for in tongue weight.
So if you replaced the spring bars of your current system with the part # EQ90-01-1499 you'd have a 1,400 lb system like what you need. You also have to swap head out too though so you'd also need # EQ90-02-1400.
