Recommended psi Rating for the Kenda Tire and Wheel # AM30660
Published 10/04/2017 >
Question:
Since this tire is rated at 90 psi, should I put that much pressure in the tire if my trailer load is not heavy or should I put less pressure 80 to 85 psi? Is it always best to be at the top psi rating?

Expert Reply:
For any trailer tire, including the Kenda 4.80-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12" White Wheel # AM30660, you will always want to have it inflated to the recommended cold tire pressure. Since the cold tire pressure for this tire is 90 psi you will want to keep it at that level.
This will ensure that your tire can carry up to 990 lbs and has the speed rating of 65 mph that the manufacturer tested for. Any more or less psi will mean that the tire is not performing the way that the manufacturer meant for it to perform and load capacities and speed ratings are unknown.
