One of the best single bike rack we have is the RockyMounts HighNoon FC Solo Bike Rack for 1 Bike - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # RKY87RR, which is a hitch mounted bike rack. This is a platform rack that secures to the wheel of the bike, as well as integrated hitch and bike locks for maximum security of the bike.
If you don't already have a hitch installed, I recommend Curt's Class III hitch, part # 13456 which is compatible with vehicles with and without the quad exhaust. I've included an installation video of this hitch onto a 2007 Dodge Charger RT So you can familiarize yourself with the process. You will want to use a stabilizing strap, part # 18050 with this hitch, as required by Curt's warranty. I've also included a video of this strap so you can see how well it works to stabilize the vehicle.
If you'd rather avoid the hitch, then the SeaSucker Talon, part # 298-BT1004 is a great option for a lot of vehicles if your bike has a quick release front wheel. This innovative fork mount rack uses vacuum cups to mount to any smooth surface on the vehicle without the need for a roof rack or hitch. This allows for quick removal and storage of the rack, and access to the trunk of the vehicle as needed.
You can also pick up the extremely stylish Komodo version that comes in several colors, part # 298-BK1910-BK
It does not include any locking features, so I strongly recommend adding a trunk-mounted cable anchor, part # 298-BA0020 and a cable lock, part # e98891 in order to secure the bike and rack to the vehicle. I've included a video demonstrating the strength of the rack, plus our video review of the rack so you can get an idea of how they work.
