The rise in the shank of the cargo carrier as well as the distance from the center of the hitch pin to closest edge of the carrier definitely help with a dual exhaust on your Kia Sorento.

The cargo carrier has a shank rise of 2-1/2 inches as well as a distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the carrier being 12-3/4 inches. This distance and rise is what will keep a bag from being affected by the exhaust.

You may even choose to use a carrier with a higher rise or a dual receiver adapter like # MPG544 (accounting for the 50% tongue weight loss from using an adapter) to raise the carrier. You can avoid this drop in tongue weight if you use the ball mount # D210 and still get the benefit of the higher receiver.
