Question:

I'd like to add a hitch to my 2014 Lexus RX 350 so I can add a cargo carrier to the back. Would it also be worth adding lights to the cargo carrier and what parts would I need for that?

I recommend installing the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e22TR on your 2014 Lexus RX 350 because it has a matte black finish. This finish blends in with your vehicle and also provides better scratch protection when compared to the standard glossy black finish we see on other hitches on the market.

A light kit isn't necessary on a cargo carrier unless you'll be piling cargo up high enough to block your lights. In that case you'll want to install the T-One Kit # 118255 and mount it near your hitch receiver using Mounting Brackets # 18144 and # 18136 for easy access.

Then for a carrier I recommend checking out the Flint Hill Goods 22" x 60" Cargo Carrier # FHG49ZR which is my favorite because it has a 500 lb weight rating but is made out of aluminum so it only weighs in at 25 lbs. To make this more visible you can install the Curt Auxiliary LED Indicator Lights # C53201 which installs on the carrier with adhesive and then plugs into the T-One connector for power.
